Privacy Policy

Caffeine is a local-first iPhone and Apple Watch app for estimating active caffeine from entries you log and, when you choose, comparing those entries with sleep recorded in Apple Health through Caffeine Pro.

Data We Store

The app stores caffeine entries, drink amounts, bedtime settings, caffeine targets, and app settings on your devices. If you use sleep insights, the iPhone app also stores your manual sleep corrections, review status, rested rating, exclusion choices, and compact night-level calculations in its private local storage. This information is used to provide caffeine estimates, bedtime forecasts, and personal caffeine-and-sleep patterns.

Sleep insight records are not stored in the shared iPhone/Watch app-group settings or sent to Apple Watch.

Apple Health

The free experience does not request or connect to sleep data. Connecting Apple Health is an optional Caffeine Pro feature. If you choose to connect it, Caffeine requests permission to:

Apple Health data is processed on your iPhone. It is not used for advertising, marketing, data mining, or sale. You may stop Health syncing without deleting records already written to Apple Health. The app also provides a separate control to delete dietary-caffeine records that Caffeine wrote; it does not delete records created by other apps.

If you do not connect Apple Health, you can use caffeine forecasts with active Pro access. Pro users may enter actual sleep manually instead. Saved history, export, and privacy controls remain available without active Pro.

Purchases

Caffeine Pro purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. The app receives verified purchase and entitlement information from StoreKit, but does not receive your payment-card details.

Caffeine uses RevenueCat to record and manage purchase information, assign pricing experiments, and measure how purchase offers perform. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app customer identifier, purchase and subscription records, and paywall-view events with the offer identifier and technical app context such as app version and platform. We do not provide your name, email, phone number, advertising identifier, caffeine entries, sleep records, Health data, bedtime settings, or personal insight results to RevenueCat. Automatic device identifier collection is disabled in our integration.

Purchase and paywall analytics help us maintain paid access and compare offers. They do not analyze your health behavior or personalize offers using Health data. RevenueCat's privacy information is available at RevenueCat privacy information.

Data We Do Not Collect

Caffeine does not require an account or display in-app ads. Apart from the purchase and paywall analytics described above, it does not send usage or health records to analytics services, track you across other companies’ apps or websites, or send your health records to developer-operated servers. The developer does not receive your caffeine log, sleep records, Health data, manual corrections, or personal insight results.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app may schedule local notifications on your device. Notification data is handled by Apple system services and is not sent to the developer.

Health And Medical Disclaimer

Caffeine estimates and observed patterns are for planning only and are not medical advice. Remaining caffeine is calculated, not measured. A pattern is an association in the data you provided and does not prove that caffeine caused a sleep outcome. Caffeine metabolism and sleep vary by person. Consult a qualified health professional before making medical decisions.

Website Analytics

This website may use basic Firebase Analytics for aggregate page usage if website analytics is enabled. It does not receive your in-app caffeine log, sleep records, Health data, or app settings.
