Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to Sunscreen Buddy (the App), provided by Nicholas Wong (we, us, or our). By using the App, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These terms supplement the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. The Apple agreement and any consumer rights that cannot legally be limited will control if they conflict with these terms.

Health and weather information

The App provides planning guidance based on forecasts, settings, workouts you choose to make available, and sunscreen applications you record. Forecasts, notifications, and estimates can be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate.

The App does not measure sunscreen on your skin, diagnose a condition, provide medical advice, or guarantee protection from sunburn or other harm. Follow your sunscreen label, local conditions, and applicable public-health or medical guidance. Seek professional care when appropriate.

Premium and purchases

Premium may include Apple Watch features, unlimited Nudges, additional Buddy options, and optional Apple Health workout adjustments. People setup, up to 100 accepted friend connections, and one outbound Nudge per week are available without Premium. Existing legacy Family entitlements may continue to grant Premium access even though Family management is no longer offered.

The exact product, price, billing period, trial, renewal terms, and included features are shown before purchase. Apple processes payments, renewals, cancellations, and refunds. Auto-renewable subscriptions continue until cancelled through your Apple subscription settings. If Premium access ends, paid features may lock, but existing friend connections can remain. Use Restore Purchases when available if a valid purchase is not recognized.

People eligibility and privacy

People features are intended for people age 13 and older. A Buddy username, display name, or invitation does not verify legal identity. There is no public directory, partial username search, chat, or contacts upload. Connect only with people you recognize and verify them outside the App when appropriate.

Invitation links are intended for their recipient, are single-use, and expire after seven days. Do not publish or automatically collect Buddy usernames, invitation links, or legacy codes.

The Sunscreen Buddy Privacy Policy explains how accounts, purchases, People, notifications, Apple Health, analytics, and deletion are handled. People sharing does not include precise coordinates, contacts, messages, sunscreen products, or application history. UV availability, coarse Buddy states, and Nudge confirmations follow the separate controls described in the App and Privacy Policy. Location-free acknowledgements do not tell the sender whether the recipient was indoors.

Acceptable use

You must not:

• impersonate, threaten, harass, deceive, or target another person;
• use hateful, sexual, unlawful, or otherwise objectionable names or content;
• repeatedly Nudge someone to pressure or intimidate them;
• evade blocks, request limits, safety measures, or moderation;
• probe for accounts, scrape identifiers, or automate invitations; or
• interfere with, reverse engineer, overload, or misuse the App or its services, except where applicable law expressly permits it.

People can decline, disconnect, block, and report. We may reject or retire usernames and restrict or end People access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, protect users, comply with law, or operate the service. A blocked or restricted identity may appear generically unavailable to protect private account state.

Licence and ownership

The App is licensed, not sold, for personal, non-commercial use under the Apple Standard EULA. The App, its design, artwork, software, and branding remain owned by us or our licensors. These terms do not give you rights to use our branding or distribute copies of the App.

Availability and changes

The App depends on your device, network, Apple services, WeatherKit, Firebase, RevenueCat, and regional availability. Features such as forecasts, purchase verification, invitations, notifications, and People may sometimes be delayed, changed, limited, or unavailable.

We may update the App, its features, or these terms. The effective date above identifies the current version. If a change is material, we may also provide notice in the App. Continued use after an updated version takes effect means you accept it; if you do not, stop using the App.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App and online services are provided on an as available basis. The warranty and liability terms in Apple's Standard EULA also apply. Nothing here excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
